- Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Soil Science major, in 1983 from the Visayas State College of Agriculture, Leyte, Philippines

Other Information
Background: Born to Mr. Virgilio Pila Roma and Mrs. Dalia Oplimo Roma. Grew up in the mountains of Boljoon, Cebu, Philippines in a farming community where the average farm size is 2 ha. Finished elementary education from Lunop, Elementary School and secondary education from Boljoon Barangay High School.
Married to Redentor Burgos, also from Cebu, Philippines. Blessed with one son, Ronelo Burgos.
