What our students say about CSES...

"I love being at the U of A. It is a wonderful college. I am still happy that I went to ASU-Beebe first because now I appreciate Fayetteville more.... I am living in the Northwest Quad; it is definitely the top of the line. My classes are off to a great start.... Thank you for encouraging me to come here. I am going to benefit from this university's program."

"I love being a student at the Bumpers College -- all the teachers and faculty are great people. My major in CSES has given me the opportunity to conduct undergraduate research and to work in my college with one of my professors. I really appreciate all the opportunities that this college offered me, and I am happy I decided to come to the U of A, because I know I am getting a lot of benefits from this program and I have met really nice people who are willing to help me at any time.

“Coming from a farm background, I was really interested in crop management and thought the classes looked interesting. Plus, the U of A and the agriculture college have a good reputation.

[Scholarships] really helped me with my financial needs. They also provided a good incentive to make good grades.

Getting a job on campus in the wheat breeding program has really broadened my outlook about crop science and my career aspirations.”

Adam attended the U of A because of a scholarship and chose to study Environmental, Soil, and Water Sciences because of “high school interests in the environmental sciences.”

Adam enjoys the “small size of the CSES department and the atmosphere it creates.” His advice to incoming freshmen: “Plan for a minor or additional major.”

Adam plans to attend graduate school at the U of A to continue his Honors Program research on ‘‘Antibiotic Resistance in Fecal Bacterial Indicators Downstream of Wastewater Treatment Plants.”
